Barn Owl on post

Barn Owlets (Wild)-(in fact I think they were furious) just after I had rung them

Here is a 2nd brood Barn owlet about to leave the nest

The date is 7th November 2007, location, Somerset-England

This time a young female barn owlet, also in November, she has fledged

too early and grounded herself (note the frost around her)

When showing this picture recently I was asked "did I do the right thing and let nature take its course" Meaning of course did I leave her for a Fox to eat!

You may decide amongst yourself what happened after the picture was taken.

Barn Owls hunting on the Somerset Levels.

The levels forms one of this species national strongholds.
