Dawn Chorus on Mendip
04:00hrs to 08:00hrs on Saturday May 3rd, 2008
We begin by walking to a beautiful ancient woodland in a sheltered valley on the Mendip Hills, which will be awash with Bluebells and wild Garlic. There will be a chance of encountering various noctunal wildlife including Barn Owl, Tawny Owl and Roe Deer, before we settle around first light to enjoy a stunning dawn chorus. Chris Sperring will lead this walk and be on hand to help identify the various songs. If you fancy doing something really different this is truly an experience not to be missed!
The walk back will be a chance to enjoy this amazing landscape at first light, with no one else around, and just the wildlife for company. We will finish at around 7am, after which you will be treated to breakfast - Mendip style.
Cost of event (including breakfast) is £10 per person.
Places are limited, so booking is essential via info@chrissperring.com
*Total length of walk around 4 miles, some of which occurs over uneven ground. Comfortable (preferably waterproof) shoes, warm clothes and torch are essential.

Owl Prowls
Experience the excitement of seeing wild owls in their natural surroundings, as well as lots of other nocturnal wildlife.
I will not run Owl Prowls during the breeding season for obvious reasons, but will be resuming these in the late summer and autumn. If you would like to register your interest in going on an Owl Prowl please contact me at info@chrissperring.com and I will keep you informed. Otherwise just keep checking the website for details.
Booking for these Owl Prowls is essential as numbers are limited to 20 people per event (as more than this number could disturb the owls and reduce the chances of seeing anything). Places will be booked on a first come first served basis, and full payment will be taken on the night.
